👤 My account

Click Sign up at the top right. Enter your first name, last name, email address and a secure password. A verification email will be sent — click the link to activate your account.

Go to the Forgot password page. Enter your email address and you will receive a reset link valid for 1 hour.

Log in, then go to Dashboard → Profile settings. You can update your photo, biography, contact information and notification preferences.

You can delete your account from profile settings (under Danger zone) or by emailing sapeo@sapeo.org. Note that any unwithdrown funds will be permanently lost after deletion.

No. Only one account per person is allowed. Holding multiple accounts violates our Terms of Service and may result in suspension of all accounts concerned.

🚀 Campaigns

From your dashboard, click Create a campaign. Fill in:

  1. A catchy title
  2. Category & description
  3. Fundraising goal
  4. Cover photo

Submit for review — our team reviews each campaign within 24-48 hours.

Our teams process validation requests within 24 to 48 business hours. If additional information is needed, you will be contacted by email.

Yes. You can update the description, photos, video and goal from your dashboard. Some major changes (title, category) may require re-validation.

Yes, if it violates our Terms of Service: fraudulent, hateful or illegal content, or content infringing third-party rights. You will receive an explanation by email and can correct your campaign.

You keep the funds raised, even if the goal is not 100% met. There is no "all or nothing" mode imposed. You can extend your campaign as long as needed.

Share buttons for Facebook, Twitter/X, WhatsApp and email are available on your campaign page. You can also copy the direct link and share it manually.

💛 Making a donation

Open the campaign of your choice, click Donate, choose the amount and complete the secure Stripe form. You will receive an automatic receipt by email.

Yes. During checkout, tick the Stay anonymous box. Your name will not appear publicly on the campaign page.

Donations are final and irrevocable. A refund is only possible in the event of a verified technical error or confirmed fraud, at SAPEO's discretion. Contact sapeo@sapeo.org within 48 hours of the donation.

SAPEO accepts via Stripe:

  • Visa, Mastercard, American Express cards
  • Apple Pay & Google Pay
  • Local debit cards (depending on country)

Cash or direct bank transfers are not accepted.

Deductibility depends on the nature of the campaign and your country of residence. SAPEO provides a payment receipt, but this receipt is not necessarily a tax certificate. Consult a tax adviser for your situation.

💸 Withdrawals

To withdraw your funds, you must:

  1. Have completed KYC verification (ID + bank details)
  2. Meet the specific conditions for your first campaign (see below)

⏳ Conditions for your first fundraiser:

  • 🕒 Minimum 14-day waiting period after receiving the first donation before any withdrawal — to prevent chargebacks and disputes
  • 📊 Minimum 5% of the goal collected required to initiate the first withdrawal
  • 💤 Inactivity exception: if less than 5% collected AND no donation received for 20 consecutive days, withdrawal is unlocked regardless

In your dashboard, go to My withdrawals → Request a withdrawal. Enter the desired amount and confirm. Funds arrive in your bank account within 2 to 5 business days (SEPA transfer).

No. SAPEO charges no withdrawal fees. The only fees are Stripe processing fees (~1.5%) charged at the time of the original donation.

Check that your KYC is validated and your bank details are correct. If the problem persists, contact our support at sapeo@sapeo.org with your campaign ID.

🪪 KYC Verification

KYC (Know Your Customer) is a legal identity verification procedure required to prevent fraud and comply with anti-money-laundering regulations (AML/BSA). It is mandatory to withdraw your funds.

  • 🪪 Official ID: national identity card, passport or residence permit (front & back)
  • 🏦 Bank details / IBAN: bank statement in the name of the SAPEO account holder

Verification is carried out by our team within 24 to 48 business hours. You will be notified by email once approved or if a document is insufficient.

Yes. Your documents are encrypted, stored on secure AWS US servers and accessible only by SAPEO verification agents. They are never shared with third parties. See our Privacy Policy.

You will receive an email explaining the reason (blurry photo, expired document, name mismatch…). Fix the issue from My account → KYC and resubmit.

🔒 Security

SAPEO uses:

  • 🔒 SSL/TLS encryption on all communications
  • 🛡️ Stripe PCI-DSS Level 1 payments
  • 🔑 Bcrypt-hashed passwords
  • 🌐 AWS US servers with daily backups

Immediately change your password from this page, then contact security@sapeo.org describing the suspicious activity. Our security team will treat your report as a priority.

On the campaign page, click the Report button. You can also email legal@sapeo.org with the campaign URL and reason for the report.

2FA is not yet available but is on our roadmap. In the meantime, use a strong, unique password and never share your credentials.

🧾 Billing

Every Stripe charge corresponds to a donation you made on SAPEO. If you do not recognise a transaction, check your history in My account → My donations. If you still don't recognise it, contact sapeo@sapeo.org immediately.

A receipt is automatically emailed after every donation. You can also download your receipts from My account → My donations.

When donating, you can optionally add a voluntary tip to support the platform's operation. This tip is 100% optional and does not reduce the amount paid to the campaign creator.

Stripe fees vary by card issuing country:

  • 🇪🇺 European cards: ~1.5% + €0.25
  • 🌍 Non-European cards: ~2.9% + €0.25

SAPEO charges no additional commission.

⚙️ Technical issues

Try these solutions in order:

  1. Clear your browser cache (Ctrl+Shift+Del)
  2. Try another browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari)
  3. Disable your extensions (AdBlock, etc.)
  4. Try from another network (WiFi, mobile data)

If the problem persists, contact sapeo@sapeo.org with a screenshot.

Check your Spam / Junk folder. If our emails are not there, add sapeo@sapeo.org to your contacts. If the problem persists, contact support.

Check:

  • Card details (number, expiry, CVV)
  • Your bank hasn't blocked the transaction (some banks block international payments)
  • Your card has sufficient funds

If it still fails, try with another card or contact your bank.

Send a detailed email to sapeo@sapeo.org with:

  • Description of the problem
  • Steps to reproduce the bug
  • Your browser and operating system
  • A screenshot if possible
