📋 Über dieses Projekt

Over the past four months I rebuilt the engine and transmission. Now a new problem appeared: the gear selector module failed (£700) and some local corrosion showed up. I can’t afford these costs because my partner lost her job and I’m supporting both of us alone.

📖 Die vollständige Geschichte

I have a car that I genuinely love. It’s a 2010 Jaguar XF. For me it’s not just transport, but something that has given me emotions, freedom, and the feeling of the road for many years. I can drive hundreds of kilometers in it simply because I enjoy this car. It’s the place where I relax.

Cars like this aren’t made anymore. The first‑generation XF is its own era, and it’s important for me to keep this exact car, not replace it with something new.

For the past eight months I’ve been restoring it mechanically. In spring the engine was rebuilt, the transmission was removed six times until it finally worked properly, the rear differential and bearings were replaced, both turbochargers were restored, and the headlights were refreshed. The car is now almost like new.

But while the repair was going on, a new problem appeared: the gear selector module (the shift and start/stop unit) failed. It costs around £700. At the same time the body started rusting — corrosion is already visible under the paint, and it’s getting worse every week.

After such a long and expensive repair I simply don’t have any funds left to stop the corrosion and replace this module. My partner recently lost her job, and I’m fully supporting both of us now, so any extra expenses have become impossible.

I’m asking for help to finish this long restoration and save the car I’ve put so much work into. Any support will help stop the rust, replace the failed module, and bring the Jaguar back to a condition where it can serve for many more years. Thank you to everyone who decides to help.
