📋 Informazioni sul progetto

On the afternoon of July 11, 2026, flames quickly spread from the neighboring shop to my restaurant. In just 20 minutes, everything turned to ash. I run a small Japanese set meal in Kyoto. The restaurant is less than 20 meters from my apartment. This place isn't just where my friends and neighbors hang out, but it also welcomes thousands of foreign tourists every year.I want to cook for everyone.

📖 La storia completa

I run a set menu restaurant in Kyoto, and even before I opened it, my friends used to love hanging out at my place.
But a sudden fire disrupted our peaceful lives. The blaze from the neighboring shop spread to my shop, and it took 22 fire trucks from the Kyoto Fire Department to put it out.
I'm the tenant of the house, so not allowed to buy fire insurance. And the store next door is at fault, but according to Japanese law, they don't have to compensate anyone else since they've lost everything, too. (I got food poisoning insurance for 100 million Japanese yen, but thankfully it's never happened.)

Friends, neighbors, and guests all came to offer their support after seeing the news. Everyone encouraged me to reopen the restaurant, so I'm hoping to get more help to gather enough money for rent, security deposit, and renovation costs.
Because costs keep going up, my profit isn't much, but everyone loves the food I make, and some neighbors come every day.
With more foreign tourists coming, I'm dealing with a lot of international guests every day. We've even added a vegetarian menu, which isn't very common in Japan. A lot of our guests come on family trips because the kids have plenty of space to play around.
I have six kids, all of them are adults and live in Tokyo. My kids also bring my grandkids to my restaurant to eat, Just like when they were kids, I used to cook for them at home too.
I've received gifts from many foreign travelers, and I'd really like to give back by offering gifts from Kyoto as a way to thank everyone who contributed to the fundraiser.
Everyone's happiness is my happiness. I want to see everyone enjoying a authentic Japanese set meal with a big smile.
