Help with my dad's surgery to save his leg

I am trying to collects funds for my father who has diabetes and has an infection in his bones from a previous surgery, where he may have caught a bacteria in the OR.

My father broke his leg a year ago and had to have surgery to repair it. In this surgery they installed metal and screws to fix the bone. After long months of PT and rest, he recovered. A few months later he developed an infection in his skin, an ulcer, which then progressed to an infection in the muscles and in the bones, despite being on several rounds of antibiotics.
The doctors say there is no way of knowing if the caught the infection in the OR or his body rejected the metal placed. The thing is: he is required to colect approximately 7300USD to have the surgery to remove the plates, remove possible dead tissue and collect samples of his bone to check if it was a malpractice, or if was his own body.
We are not a wealthy family, we do not lack food or clothes, but we definitely do not have that amount to pay forehand. If he does not pay, he does not get the surgery. He lives in Chile, while I'm living in Argentina, far from him, unable to travel to save some money for him, and I'm sick worried for him. He's my stepfather, but he is with me since I'm 7 and never treated me any different than the children from his previous marriage. My sister and I have always been daughters to him, and by being my father, he healed wounds he never inflicted. He saved my mother, my sister and myself. I am eternally grateful to him and his nice, kind, loving soul.
This money would go exclusively for his medical expenses, which at this moment, surgery alone is 7250USD beforehand. BEFOREHAND. If he does not have this surgery soon, the probabilities of him losing his leg are sky high. He is a truck driver, he earns life driving. He needs his leg, and every minute he spends without working means not enough money for the home, rent, food, utilities. Unfortunately my mom's job and my own are not enough to cover for everything, least the amount of the surgery.
I have every medical proof needed for transparency and I am absolutely willing to provide any detail you may need about this matter.
