📋 À propos de ce projet
My name is Kandafula Sikana (Sage) and I recently got accepted into I.U. Bloomington's Interdisciplinary Curatorship program starting this Fall 2026. This is a lifelong dream for me and I would appreciate even 1 dollar towards my first year of the program!
📖 L'histoire complète
My name is Kandafula Sikana ( I also go by Sage), and I am preparing to begin my Master’s in Curatorship at Indiana University Bloomington. My chosen discipline is African American and African Diasporic Studies with an emphasis on Black Aesthetics and Poetics — a field that explores how art, literature, and cultural expression shape identity, resistance, and belonging.
This program is more than an academic milestone; it is a chance to curate narratives of Black creativity and heritage in ways that challenge dominant perspectives and open new spaces for dialogue. From Lusaka to Bloomington, my path has always been guided by a deep belief in the power of art, culture, and heritage to transform communities. As a literary artist, writer, and advocate, I have spent my four undergraduate years at DePauw curating stories of resilience, healing, and national identity. Now, I am stepping into a new chapter: pursuing my Master’s in Curatorship at Indiana University Bloomington.
This program is not just an academic pursuit — it is the foundation for building a curatorial practice that bridges African heritage with global narratives, ensuring our voices, histories, and creative expressions are preserved and celebrated. I want to be one of the people making sure the stories of the African diaspora are not only respected but celebrated and understood by all.
With a 15% scholarship, the remaining fundraising goal is to reach a total of $39,776 to secure my spot.
As this is my lifelong dream, I am willing to work on campus for an additional subsidy to support me the rest of the way. If I have made an impact in your life, through my art, my words or my presence, please consider donating what you can today and help me realize this goal.
