Hello everyone,
I am Daniel towel. My grandparents came to this farm over 40 years ago, with very few belongings but a lot of hope. They built this house with their own hands, planted the first trees, and cared for this land every single day. My parents grew up here too, and when they could no longer be with us, I stayed here with my grandparents: it is just the three of us, and we only have each other.
Everything changed a few months ago, when unexpected, very heavy rains came. Water got into our storehouses, and we lost all the grain and vegetables we were going to sell this year. The roof of our house now has a few holes, and every time it rains, water comes inside. Our irrigation system broke down, and the old tractor we use to work the fields will not start anymore.
My grandparents are getting older: my grandmother has bone problems and can barely walk, and my grandfather gets tired very quickly and cannot lift heavy things anymore. I am the only one who can do the hard work, but I cannot do everything alone, and I have no money to buy what we need.
I have tried everything I can: I sold my motorcycle, which was my only way to get to town; I sold my tools, the few animals we could do without, and everything else we did not need at home. I have worked any job I could find: helping harvest fruit on other farms, carrying goods at the market, cleaning yards. But there is very little work here, and it pays very little — what I have earned so far is not even half of what we need.
That is why we are asking for your help. This 15,000€ will be used exactly for:
🏠 Repairing the holes in our roof and making the house safe
🚜 Fixing the irrigation system and tractor so we can work the land again
🌾 Buying new seeds and feed for our animals
🧓 Paying for check-ups and medicine for my grandparents
We do not want to leave. We have nowhere else to go. This farm holds all our memories: where my grandfather taught me to plant seeds, where my grandmother baked bread for me every morning. If we cannot fix these things soon, we will not be able to stay here.
