📋 À propos de ce projet
I am a Haitian student accepted to attend the European International Law Summer Programme 2026 at Leuven, Belgium. This opportunity will help me advance my commitment to human rights and international law, but I cannot afford the costs alone. Your support will help make this life-changing opportunity possible.
📖 L'histoire complète
My name is Voinise, and I am a Haitian criminology and paralegal student currently living in the Dominican Republic. I am honored to have been accepted into the 2026 KU Leuven European and International Law Summer School, hosted by the Faculty of Law and Criminology in Belgium, from September 14 to September 18, 2026.
I was raised in an orphanage in Haiti, and those early years played an important role in shaping who I am today. They taught me the value of compassion, resilience, education, and treating every person with dignity and respect. Those experiences sparked my interest in justice and inspired me to pursue studies in criminology, paralegal studies, and international law. I hope to build a career where I can help protect the rights of others and contribute to a more just society.
As a minor, I had the opportunity to participate in two international student programs by the age of 16. Meeting students from different countries and learning in an international environment broadened my perspective and strengthened my passion for global education. Those experiences showed me how powerful education can be in bringing people together across cultures and inspired me to continue pursuing international academic opportunities.
Today, I worked as a freelance medical and legal interpreter while continuing my education. My academic journey requires determination and perseverance. There were times when I had to pause my studies for several months so I could save enough money to pay my tuition before continuing. Although I work hard, my income is not enough to cover the program fees, visa, travel, accommodation, and living expenses required to attend the KU Leuven Summer School.
Being accepted by KU Leuven is one of the most meaningful milestones of my educational journey. For me, this opportunity is about much more than attending a one-week program. It is a chance to learn from internationally respected professors and legal professionals, deepen my understanding of European and international law, and gain knowledge that I hope to use throughout my career to promote justice, human rights, and equal access to legal protection.
Since receiving my acceptance to KU Leuven, I have reached out to hundreds of organizations, foundations, and scholarship providers hoping to find financial support. Although many encouraged me and wished me success, I have not yet been able to secure the funding needed to attend. Rather than giving up on this opportunity, I decided to ask for help from people who believe that education has the power to change lives.
Every contribution, no matter the amount, will go directly toward my program fees, visa, travel, accommodation, and other essential expenses related to attending the KU Leuven Summer School in Belgium. If I am fortunate enough to raise more than my goal, any additional funds will be used to support my continued legal education.
Whether you choose to donate or simply share my campaign with others, your support would mean more than I can express. Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for considering supporting my educational journey. Your kindness would help me take an important step toward achieving my goal of using education to serve others.
