I’m Graig Haufiku from Namibia. I’m fundraising to build a mobile Solar Trailer that brings clean, off-grid electricity to rural communities, schools, clinics and small businesses without grid access. The funds will be used to build the trailers, buy solar panels, batteries and equipment so we can deliver reliable power, create jobs, and improve lives across Namibia and Africa at Large.

My Story: Power on Wheels for Namibia and Africa
Who am I and what is my situation?
My name is Graig Haufiku and I’m from Namibia. I’m an entrepreneur and Welding with a background in sales, fabrication, and community projects. I’ve seen first-hand how lack of electricity holds back our people. In Namibia and across Africa, millions live in darkness not because we lack solutions, but because power hasn’t reached them yet. I refuse to wait for the grid. I’m building the solution and taking it to the people.
What is the specific need?
In Namibia, over 50% of rural households are still off-grid. Across Africa, 600+ million people live without electricity. This means:
- Clinics can’t keep vaccines cold or operate at night
- Schools have no computers, lights, or internet for learners
- Small businesses can’t operate beyond daylight hours
- Families rely on candles, paraffin, and expensive generators that cause fires and pollution
The need is urgent. Our sun is abundant, but our communities are still in the dark.
How will the funds be used?
Your donation will help us build our first Mobile Solar Trailer. Funds will go directly to:
1. Trailer & Fabrication - N$50,000: Rugged, towable trailer built locally in Namibia
2. Solar Panels & Mounting - N$60,000: High-efficiency panels to capture Namibia’s sun
3. Battery Storage & Inverter - N$80,000: Lithium battery bank to store power for night use
4. Distribution & Lights - N$20,000: Outlets, cables, and LED lighting for clinics, classrooms, and events
Total Goal: N$210,000
This first unit will be a pilot that we can replicate and deploy nationwide.
What impact will this fundraiser have?
This solar trailer will be *power on wheels It will:
- Save Lives: Power rural clinics for night births, emergencies, and vaccine refrigeration
- Educate: Give schools lights and computers so students can study after dark and access digital learning
- Create Jobs: Enable barbers, welders, shops, and traders to work anywhere and grow income
- Serve Communities: Provide clean power for water points, community events, and disaster response
- Protect the Environment: Zero fuel, zero emissions, zero noise. Just clean energy from the sun.
One trailer can serve 3-4 villages per month. It’s mobile, so we take energy independence directly to the people who need it most.
Why now?
Namibia and Africa cannot afford to wait 10 years for grid expansion. We have the sun today. We have the technology today. With your support, we can prove this model works and scale it across Namibia, and then across Africa.
This is more than a trailer. It’s dignity, opportunity, and progress delivered to every community left behind.
