My name is Wojciech Szablowski. Seven years ago, my wife, my son Wojtek, and I moved to Paraguay to build a new life. We had dreams of a better future.
But just one year after arriving, our home was invaded by an armed group. They tied us up, hit me with a rifle butt, and locked us in the bathroom. Our 10-year-old son hid under overturned beds. They stole everything – our belongings, our savings, and our dreams.
Later, we discovered we had been cheated when buying our property. We lost the house, the land, and our chance to return to Poland. We decided to stay and try again.
We don't give up easily. My son Wojtek is now 17. He's an outstanding student – he finished primary school with honors both in Poland and Paraguay. He's currently completing his first semester of Computer Science. He's also a talented musician: he plays guitar, writes original songs, and creates video games from scratch. His music tells real stories – each title is based on true events.

But life has thrown another challenge at us. For the past year, we've been suffering daily racist attacks from our neighbors – stones thrown at our walls, insults, and spitting. We can no longer stay there. We need to move to a safe place.
We need $23,000 USD to cover two years of basic living:
· Safe house rent
· Utilities and food
· Transportation
· Moving costs
We live very frugally. We sell small items to survive, but it's not enough. Jobs for foreigners here are almost impossible to find.
This is the only chance for Wojtek to finish his education and build his future. He has two more years of high school left here in Paraguay, where he studies in both Spanish and Guarani. I don't want my son to pay for my failures.
